Underfloor Heating

At Mucklow Hill Interiors in Halesowen, close to Birmingham and Wolverhampton, we sell many form of heating, including radiators, towel warmers, designer radiators along with the ever popular Underfloor heating.

There are two main types of floor heating to choose from: 1. electric underfloor heating, (also known as a dry system), and 2. water, pump driven underfloor heating (also known as wet system). We at Mucklow Hill Interiors only sell the dry system – electrical underfloor heating.

Underfloor heating is usually installed on top of a concrete or timber substrate, underneath your desired floor finish. A layer of insualtion should always be included to minimise downward heat loss and maximise the efficiency of your electric underfloor heating system.

The diagram below shows how an electric underfloor heating would be installed on a timber and concrete substrate:

Our main supplier for underfloor heating is Thermonet, who as well as offering a loose wire and matt version of underflooring heating cable also offer solutions for demisting mirrors and laminate floors.
